The Greek Freak was out due to a sore hand but Milwaukee won third straight and remains on top
The Milwaukee Bucks beat the Brooklyn Nets last night playing without their star, Giannis Antetokounmpo. The reason was a sore hand. This was the second consecutive game without the Greek Freak. He also sat out during Tuesday’s 134-123 victory at Orlando, versus the Magic, due to an illness.
Apparently, he got better from that illness, which was non-COVID related, but another problem appeared and he missed the game. However, this was not a problem for the Bucks, since they won the game 118-113. It was the Bucks’ 18th win over the last 19 games, and with a 48-18 record the franchise remains on top of the East.
The first half of the game ended 64-47 in favour of Milwaukee. Nets’ backups put in some work and almost came back on the scoreboard. They won the last two periods, but couldn’t take the lead at the end of the game.
Bobby Portis was the game’s top scorer. He and Brook Lopez also scored a double-double each. Portis had 28 points and 13 rebounds, while Lopez scored 24 points with 10 rebounds. On the losers’ side, Patty Mills scored 23 points and Cam Thomas 21, but neither of them could avoid the loss.
