49ers vs Eagles: NFC Championship injury report

49ers vs Eagles injury report for the NFC Championship game. Christian McCaffrey of San Francisco was DNP on Wednesday after practice.

The San Francisco 49ers are in pretty rough shape heading into the NFC Championship game, at least relative to their opponent. The 49ers will be in Philadelphia on Sunday, January 29th, 2023 with a start time of 3 PM ET. They are +2.5 (Unibet) on the spread for the game as they prepare to face the Philadelphia Eagles.

The first edition of the injury report for the game was published on Wednesday. There's not much on it when it came to Philadelphia's side. However, San Francisco had two huge names that will need to be monitored during the week. Bettors thinking about backing the 49ers should stand pat until further updates are available.

Christian McCaffrey: DNP on Wednesday after practice

The injury report listed Christian McCaffrey, the star running back for San Francisco. McCaffrey, a player that the 49ers acquired midseason, has a problem with his calf, according to the report. The following teammates of his were DNP due to injuries (ie. not rest) on the report for San Francisco: Jimmy Garoppolo, Trent Williams, and Elijah Mitchell (Mitchell was a non-participant due to rest).

In total, San Francisco had seven players listed on their half of the injury report. One player that was limited in participation was Deebo Samuel, the team's star wide receiver. Charles Omenihu was also on the report with an oblique injury, the same player that was in the news this week due to some legal matters.

Philadelphia lists two players on their half of the report

The report isn't huge but we're at a time of the season when only the strong survive. The Philadelphia Eagles have definitely won the battle of the injury report.

Philadelphia had just two players listed on their half of the report. Lane Johnson and Avonte Maddox were both limited in practice on Wednesday. That's the middle status on injury reports so there's a chance that they are good to go by Sunday.

Philadelphia backers looking for the green light to back their team definitely have it. The Eagles have an excellent injury report heading into the NFC Championship to go with their home-field advantage.
