QGhappy will become part of the Wolves Esports family as Fosun Sports expands its esports reach, and will continue to be the home team of southwest China’s Chongqing, although changing its name to Chongqing Wolves. The team and organization’s roster and playstyle will remain untouched.
Wolves Esports, the organization founded by Fosun Sports, has officially taken control of QGhappy after a successful tender process.
Being one of the most popular teams in China, QGhappy has consistently performed well in the LPL regular season, earning 2 silver medals and 1 bronze medal this year. Most importantly, they have beaten numerous domestic rivals including EDward Gaming, Royal Never Give Up and Rogue Warriors to clinch first place in multiple Group Stages.
QGhappy was the only new addition to Fosun Sports’ stable of esports properties that positioned themselves at the forefront of the League of Legends period.
Wolves Esports’ core focus will remain on the League of Legends professional scene in QGhappy. The organization will continue to leverage QGhappy in the increasing popularity of the MOBA genre, increasing its global presence and attractiveness.
In addition to League of Legends, Fosun Sports have been actively looking for new opportunities for its commercial partners and enterprise clients to get involved with its esports projects. Having a team with strong regional strength is a great opportunity, especially when it comes from a region with a large gaming population and a relatively low potential for international growth.
The club has recently been active on social media, posting numerous videos of their awesome plays every day. With the club’s talent and the new development, eager fans looking to see more MOBA content will not be disappointed.
