The Kuala Lumpur Major is nearing its last few days. The best teams from amongst the pack are slowly seeing themselves emerge as the strongest rosters in this meta. Two teams which are undefeated till now in the Kuala Lumpur Major Playoffs are Virtus Pro and Team Secret. Their victories today sees them go into the Upper Bracket Finals. This guarantees a minimum of Top 3 placement. It also guarantees a minimum of 2100 DPC points. This will be a significant step forward for the teams in their attempt to qualify for The Shanghai International 2019.
Team Secret win a close series against PSG.LDG
Team Secret continued their love for Arc Warden. Nisha has had a very efficient playstyle on Arc Warden. When he plays the hero, his positioning and flash farming capability make him a threat to any opponent. We have seen Team Secret use the Nisha – Arc Warden combination to full effect against Vici Gaming. Maybe on the core Leshrac was a very interesting pick. However, his super defensive playstyle
was the principal reason why LGD were unable to take an advantage in the first game. Team Secret won Game 1 with relative ease, as they extended their advantage over time.
The Second game started with Team Secret using a Kunka, Shadow Demon combination. Puppey’s Kunka was involved in 24 assists and was the reason why Team Secret had a huge advantage in the early game. Once again, Nisha got the Arc Warden and we wonder if it was a strategic move to allow him to pick the Arc Warden. xNova’s undying had a very unsatisfactory performance on the Undying. Overall, The Chinese did not look as strong as they did during TI8. Team Secret looks formidable coming into the Major. Following their splendid performance at the ESL One Hamburg 2018, Team Secret is already one of the best teams in the Dota Pro Circuit 2018-19.
Virtus Pro dominate the Ninjas.
Virtus Pro dominated Ninjas in Pyjamas yet again at the Kuala Lumpur Major. With PPD’s team sticking to their Drow Ranger pick throughout the two games, Virtus Pro had a great counter to their playstyle.
Map 1 saw Virtus Pro pick Silencer and Enigma. The two characters ensured that the CIS team had a much superior team fight. They were easily able to counter the Ninjas strategy. With ample counter-push and great team fight, Virtus Pro was able to position themselves accordingly.
The second game was even shorter with Virtus Pro picking up a very tanky lineup. Peter Dager picked up the Windranger and the drow Ranger strategy once again. However, with Virtus Pro being extremely tanky, NIP simply did have enough damage to take them down. Eventually, once Virtus Pro got their blink daggers, they would constantly be up in the face of NIP to win the team fight.
With these victories, Virtus Pro and Team Secret set up a clash in the Upper Bracket Finals. Their match is on November 17th and will be live on Twitch.
