Valve has confirmed two new Dota 2 Minors for the upcoming year. Dota 2 esports scene sees Majors and Minors. The Majors grant a bigger prize pool of $1,000,000 while the minors give out $300,000. The Minors grant a second opportunity for teams to qualify to the Major. In addition to the prize pool, teams also get a chance to earn the valuable DPC points. These DPC points are the metrics via which Valve decides which teams are invited to The International 2019.
The official Dota Pro Circuit Page is now updated with two new events. Both the new events are Dota 2 Minors with a prize pool of $300,000 and DPC points worth 500 on the line.
The Dota Pit Minor
The first event is the Dota Pit Minor. This event will take place from April 22 till the 28th of April, 2018. Featuring the best teams in the scene, it carries a prize pool of $300,000. It will take place in Croatia at the Spaladium Arena in Split. The event has one of the better productions in the scene and the previous year’s event saw widespread praise from the community.
The regional qualifiers for The Dota Pit Minor will take place from April 3rd to 6th, 2019.
The Starladder Minor
The Starladder and ImbaTV Minor will take place in June 2019. This news comes just days after we learned of the Starladder major. This Minor will take place from June 10th to 16th. The regional qualifiers will take place from May 21st to 24th. With these announcements, we now are aware of all but one Dota 2 Minor for the upcoming season. This Minor is the one taking place in March 2019 and we will wait and watch as Valve releases further information on this event.
