For now, Fnatic seems to be the best team still in contention. However, as we have seen the best teams often falter at the big stage.

Invictus Gaming upset KT Rolster.

Invictus Gaming started the quarterfinal with a quick 2-0 lead over KT Rolster. Not only was this unexpected, but it also put forth the possibility of no Korean team in the Worlds 2018 anymore. KT Rolster with all their experience and talent did manage to pull back the series to a 2-2 scoreline. The had the momentum and the confidence at this point in time. However, Invictus Gaming was not done. They had already secured two games and they were ready to take it to the very end.

The final game between KT Rolster and Invictus Gaming was one of the more exciting games at Worlds 2018. Both the teams were neck to neck throughout the majority of the game. There was no telling which team would make it o the semifinals at this stage. However, at the very end, Invictus Gaming took the lead, ensured a few objectives and they were able to take down the Nexus.

This game was definitely a huge upset and yet, it was not the end of the day. As fans witnessed later, there was yet another upset waiting to happen in the RNG vs G2 game.

G2 steal the thunder from RNG

The series started with RNG putting up a strong performance in Game 1 and taking the lead. This was not a huge surprise as RNG are the tournament favourites behind KT Rolster. However, G2 came back with vengeance in Game 2. Multiple members of the G2 squad had excellent individual performances to lift their gameplay. They were definitely putting up some exciting plays, some of which were their best plays through the year.

The third game was seemingly lacklustre as RNG definitely was tilting hard by this moment. There were some really simple elementary mistakes by the RNG squad. Despite having players like Uzi on their roster, RNG seemed to be very incoherent and out of sync in the third game.
