ESL One Cologne provided some really surprising results with Na’Vi and BIG Gaming in the finals. The two teams were definitely not expected to be in the finals of the tournament, especially with the presence of teams such as MiBr, Astralis and Faze Clan. BIG Gaming was the biggest surprise as they have hardly had any impact in the past few months. Ulrich Schulze, Senior Vice President of Product at ESL mentions that they had second thoughts about inviting to ESL One Cologne 2018.
Time to confess: When we discussed the local invite for #ESLOne Cologne back in February, I initially suggested we should consider a different German team because @BIGCLANgg didn't seem strong enough at the time. The addition of @smooyacs really turned things around for them.
