According to a tweet from yesterday, Ubisoft is taking action against players that use AFK farming tactics in Rainbow Six Siege and will consider “design adjustments” and “new automated AFK detections and punishments” to address the problem. It’s not known if this will come in the form of an update or a patch, but it is encouraging.

If you’re not already familiar with the MT Framework developed by Rainbow Six Siege’s new Anti AFK system is designed to close the exploit of allowing you to farm points over and over again by simply tying your controller up and allowing it to run itself, earning you rewards without any player intervention. This of course is something that has been exploited for a few months now. Unfortunately, this has resulted in some rather negative feedback from many players as they feel there should be a better way of addressing the issue than just outright banning people from playing. It is also, of course, frustrating. While this doesn’t necessarily solve the issue, it is somewhat encouraging that they are aware of the problem and are looking to address it. Hopefully, they are able to come up with some sort of solution – whether temporary or otherwise – before the game’s launch next week on February 5th.
