Let’s have look at the top five candidates that will have their eyes set on the trophy in Vietnam.
5) Team Liquid
Team Liquid arrives into the competition after missing out on several previous editions. The NA side remodeled itself in 2019, to finally win the LCS. However, despite lifting the Spring title the team didn’t have quite convincing performances. So we and the fans hope that they have learned from their mistakes before the start of MSI.
Nicolaj “Jensen” Jensen was simply superb for the team and was clinical to the title ambitions. Meanwhile Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng justified that he is still amongst the best of the game. We believe that the jungler of the team, Jake “Xmithie” Puchero really need to step up. He has made a habit of gifting kills to the opposition, owing to his unsuccessful playing style. It could prove to be a death wish against the best teams in the world at MSI.

4) Flash Wolves
Flash Wolves witness a nightmare after the Worlds 2018. Since some of their best players, support Hu “SwordArT” Shuo-Chieh, mid-laner Huang “Maple” Yi-Tang and jungler Kim “Moojin” Moo-jin left the team. They were tipped to have a disastrous season, but the Taiwanese side silenced the critics. They managed a 2nd place finish in the regular season and dominated in the playoffs.
This just shows the strength of the lineup and how threatening they can be at MSI. They have a decent roster including the services of Shin “Rather” Hyeong-seop. The mid laner could prove to be vital for the Wolves against the likes of Liquid and G2.

This new lineup of Flash Wolves will be looking to make its mark at MSI. This is the first time that this roster competes of the International level. Yet, we are convinced that the team will qualify for the finals. The teams hailing for Taiwan have established a strong reputation to cause upsets. So we won’t be surprised if Flash Manges to take down some of the big guns.
3) G2 Esports
The EU side had a fairytale run in the 2018 Worlds since they made it to the semifinals. G2 only lost to IG, the eventual winners of the competition. The kings of Europe had an exciting offseason after the Worlds. The side made one of the most controversial transfers of the league by recruiting Fnatic’s Rasmus “Caps” Winther. They moved Luka “Perkz” Perković to the bottom lane.
The strength of G2 lies in their diversity of draft. Since the stars of the team Perkz and Caps have proved that they can win games on any champions. They have also adopted strategies of the previous meta like funnel comps and obscure bot laners on their way to the title.

The only player of the team that poses question marks is Hampus “promisq” Mikael. He is a substitute for the team and hasn’t played pro games since 2018 September. He will be competing in the first team after one of the players of the team got injured.
