It’s hard to imagine what the teams themselves gain, or what individual players make with the esports market said to be worth $1.1 billion this year. Wages and similar costs are hard to reach online, but one thing that can help measure a team or player’s success is tournament income.
The Dota 2 International 2019 had a huge prize pool of $34,330,000, while the Fortnite World Cup has a prize pool of $15,287,000 for Solos and a prize pool of $11,100,000 for Duos.
Let’s take a look at these high stake high reward tournaments for the esports players who make the most money.
Johan “N0tail” Sundstein, the most earning sports player, $6,889,591,79
N0tail is an Danish Dota 2, currently Captain, the TI9-winning team. His squad won $15,620,000 in first place finish. This year, the team won another US$ 60,000 in the MDL Disneyland Paris Major by ranking third. His co-workers Jesse “JerAx” Vainikka, Anathan “ana” Pham, Sébastien “Ceb” Debs and Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen come with very similar overall incomes right after N0tail.

This was followed directly behind by the rankings by Amer “Miracle-” Al-BarKawi, Ivan “MinD ContRoL” Ivanov and Maroun “GH” Merhej. However, former team mates of Liquid Team Lasse “Matumbaman” is also identified, though later on after SumaiL at 11th.
Most recently part of Evil Geniuses, by taking 5th place, 3rd at TI9 and 3th place at Disneyland Paris Major, SumaiL earns a great deal of change as well as winning a previous edition of The International with EG.
Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf, $3,052,800.00
Bugha has found his way to 12th place, thanks almost entirely to the Fortnite World Cup Solo Finals, among all Dota-2 players above and below him. The biggest amount of prize money a player has ever been awarded at an esport tournament, the first place at this event was $3 million.
In the course of other Fortnite events, Bugha has also been well-advanced, including coming throughout fourth place at Week 1 of the Fortnite Season X championships, in the North America East division.
Apart from Bugha, all the top 20 professional Dota 2 players have the highest earnings in the country. This is because the two most important tournaments in the esport industry are Dota 2 and Fortnite.
While the wild bonus pools produce enormous benefits for players, League of Legends is often viewed as a more stable career game. The earnings are some of the best in the business with many making $300,000 alone and many star players will do more. With many wages kept from the public, however, we can only examine what players earned for official numbers during tournaments.
Here are the players who have made the most of their careers to date.
Lee Faker Sang-hyeok, $1,228,281
millionaire Faker from SKT is the only player from the League of Legends who collects over one million dollars in his career in LoL. This is due to the three titles, along with some trophies from the MSI and LCK World Championships.
SKT is also second on the list, Lee’ Duke’ Ho-seong, $954,646,449
Not surprisingly. In season 6 Duke made most of his profits when he helped the leading team to claim the LCK’s Spring Split title and eventually also the 2016 World Championship. Duke still had success with Invictus, including winning Worlds 2018, whereas the majority of his profits came from later.
Lee “Wolf” Jae-wan, a new SKT celebrity $913,084
Wolf, comes to the third position on the League list of highest profits. For 2017, when the team won Worlds, he became one of the top recipient. Like Duke, SKT was SKT’s supporter of most of his earnings, but Wolf’s play with the turkish team SuperMassive Esports has since been shown.
Counter-Strike: The Global Offensive is another game with many talented players who make a big deal of money at the competitions. The most popular CSGO games Of course, winning tournament after tournament are not as incredible as Dota 2, but many of the players still earn steady income from the biggest teams. Jake “Stewie2k” $979,690,00
Stewie2k Team Liquid joins after all the kids from Astralis, and his new Liquid partner is very far ahead of him. This is most likely, as Stewie2k was successful with MiBR and Cloud9, in addition to his winnings with Liquid.
Stewie2k was especially successful at Cloud9, as it included a CSGO major trophy in Boston.
Epitácio “TACO” de Melo, $960,839.89
Due to his squad consistent performance in the CSGO world, this MiBR player sits at the top of the charts behind Astralis and Stewie2k. TACO was also popular as a Team Liquid leader, but before its rise to world number one in 2019, it left liquid. The rest of the MiBR team follows the TACO charts closely.
