Blizzard has received accusations of being slow in reacting to player’s histories and punishing them. The game developer has now announced the Discipline Tracker for Season 2. This tracker will be running a record of players who violate the league’s code of conduct. It will also keep track of the penalties that they face. The League is already handing out punishments to players before the start of Season 2. With eight new teams joining the League for Season 2, there is an influx of new players and additions to the teams. As such, it is important for Overwatch league to stay ahead of handing out punishments to players.
The reasons for these punishments vary from Account Boosting, Toxicity to outright throwing games.
As players join the Overwatch League, the league office conducts a full review of their conduct and, where appropriate, takes disciplinary action. While the league reviews each case on its own, key factors informing the level of discipline include both the severity and recency of the actions under review. During the season, the league office will continue to evaluate infractions and take action as needed.

- Damon “Apply” Conti [ Florida Mayhem]: Suspended two games for account boosting.
- Kelsey “Colourhex” Birse [ Boston Uprising]: Suspended two games for account boosting.
- Shilong “Krystal” Cai [Hangzhou Spark]: Suspended one game for account boosting.
- Se-Hyun “Neko” Park [Toronto Defiant]: Suspended three games for selling an account and obstructing league office investigation. (Note: an earlier version of this post mischaracterized the specific infraction.)
- Riku “Ripa” Toivanen [Los Angeles Gladiators]: Suspended five games for throwing matches and toxicity.
- Won-Jae “Rise” Lee [Guangzhou Charge]: Fined $1,000 for account sharing.
- MinKi “Violet” Park [San Francisco Shock]: Suspended two games for account boosting.
The shortest ban duration goes to Krystal from Hangzhou Spark who receives a one-game suspension. Most of the players receive a two-game suspension while Rise gets a $1000 fine for account sharing. The punishments are decided after their impact on the community as well as severity.
The list does not include players who are not currently under contract with an Overwatch League team but might face suspension or fines should they return to league play. In addition, players who have previously served penalties while playing in Contenders are generally not subject to further discipline upon joining the Overwatch League.
