Despite The International 2018, a long time before teams knew that the 2019 Tournament would be played in China.

In 2018, when the prize pool hit 25,000 USD, and this year in Shanghai, it managed to swell even further to a whopping of 34. 3 million USD at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver. It broke down the shirt-lived record of $30 m set as the biggest prize pool in the history of gaming at the Fortnite World Cup.
It is likely that when qualifiers convene next year in Sweden for International 2020, this milestone will be broken again.
Once again, teams will compete directly through the Dota Pro Circuit, along with a variety of other global qualifying competitions, for the International 2020.
