The Shanghai Major was notorious for its various problems within the game. The Group Stages have been announced.

The teams were consequently grouped into four different groups for the beginning of the major final stage in Shanghai with two selected teams playing. 
The groups are the following:

    • Vici Gaming (CN, Qualifier)

    GROUP B:

    • Effect (CIS, Qualifier)
    • Evil Geniuses (NA, Qualifier)
    • Invictus Gaming (China, Direct Invite)
    • Mineski (SEA, Qualifier)
    • paiN Gaming (SA, Qualifier)
    • Team Secret (EU, Direct Invite)
    • VGJ.Thunder (CN, Qualifier)
    • Virtus.Pro (CIS, Direct Invite)

The category has two top teams for the top bracket, with the two bottom teams in the knockout phase qualifying for the bottom bracket round. The team that wins in the top bracket will play against the winner of the bottom bracket in the grand finale.

The case ends on 25 February, Group A is locked, Group B is on 26 February, Group C is on 27 February and Group D is on 28 February.

A short pause takes place for the teams before the upper and lowers brackets commence on 2 March 2016, before the Grand Final will be played on Friday 5 March.
