PSG.LGD has decided to withdraw from the upcoming DPL tournament. They have cited health issues on their players for this decision. The announcement comes at a time when the season is currently underway. The DPL Season 2 ends on December 30 and the playoffs are currently underway. This means that they forfeit their playoff matches. They would have faced off against the winner of Ehome / Newbee in the Upper Bracket Round 1.
It’s with regret that we announce that PSG.LGD will not compete in the playoffs of this year’s second season of the Dota Professional League (DPL) due to one of their players’ ongoing health issues.

Regretfully, We have to announce we will quit DPL playoffs because of one of our players’ health. In the past weeks, we kept practicing actively for more professional matches, but our player still needs some time to recover. Therefore, we cannot participate in DPL playoffs. We apologize to the organizer and other teams for the troubles we caused, and hope DPL will be sucessfully completed. We also hope other teams will show best performance. From now on, we will work harder to adjust and prepare for the coming events.

DPL Season 2 had a prize pool of ¥ 1,000,000 CNY (≃ $145,142 USD). There were a total of twelve teams in participation. The tournament is an online tournament and usually brings together some of the strongest Chinese Dota 2 teams.
With PSG.LGD’s decision, either of Ehome or Newbee will be free to go one step ahead. However, it also means that the next open qualifiers will see PSG.LGD go through the open qualifiers for the tournament.
