The PLG Grand Slam was slated to commence the first match several hours ago. However, the tournament organiser has announced that there will be severe delays for day 1. As such, the matches for Day 1 will not be streamed live for the viewers. It definitely a huge setback as the tournament organise was counting on the broadcast numbers as well as the buzz generated around the event. The delays are happening due to ‘technical reasons’. We do not have any specifics on these technical reasons yet.

The PLG Grand Slam 2018

The PLG Grand Slam 2018 is a $100,000 event held in Abu Dhabi. It is a significant boost from their previous edition which saw a total prize pool of $5,000. Power League Gaming has consistently worked towards the development of esports in the Middle East. This tournament sees a total of sixteen teams in attendance. Day 1 would see multiple Best of One matches.

Power League Gaming’s foundation is based on solid partnerships with companies like EA Games, EA Sports, Activision Blizzard, Warner Bros Games, Kingston HyperX,  Coca-Cola to name a few. After three first years, with notable tournament leagues such as the official Middle East Call of Duty Qualifiers for the World Championship, Injustice Middle East Finals and more, 2014 marks the reboot of PLG with major newly created leagues.

Introduced in 2014 as a standalone tournament, the PLG Legendary turned into one of the region most popular League of Legends online league, with a prize pool in every season, offline qualifiers during live events, and opening the door for more than 16 countries to join from the comfort of their home. 2015 was also the year that another major online league was introduced, this time with EA Sports FIFA, and the PLG Super League, an elite competition for players that qualified in the previous season numerous FIFA and Fanta Masters tournaments.

Technical Delays and Server Issues

There seem to be server issues along with other technical delays in the matches. The PLG Grand Slam should hopefully commence very soon. While we cannot access the stream, PLG will update the results on their social media. We will keep you updated with the news and the results from Day 1.
