FaceIT has announced the team matchups for the New Legends stage. Out of the 24 participating teams at the FaceIT London Major, eight teams are no longer a part of the Major. There are only sixteen teams remaining to compete for a chance of taking home $500,000 for the first place.

Here are the Matchups for the New Legends Stage.

  • G2 vs HR
  • Winstrike vs Liquid
  • Faze Clan vs BIG Gaming
  • Fnatic vs Complexity
  • MiBr vs Tyloo
  • Mouz vs NIP
  • Na’Vi vs Astralis
  • Cloud9 vs Vega Squadron

The New Legends stage will start after a 1-day break. The teams will play in Best of One matches and follow pretty much the same format as The New Challengers stage.

The FaceIT Major is full of technical problems

There is a lot of negative publicity for the FaceIT Major. It has been a bad experience for the participating players as well as CS: GO Viewers. The Players have been plagued with substandard Computers. There have been multiple complaints of low FPS and Audio Issues causing problems to the players.

The same issue was reiterated by multiple players. The audio issues would often leave the players confused as to the enemies position. They would often charge through a part of the map, mostly because they thought it was empty.

Playing on suboptimal conditions does cause a lot of problems to the players and teams. Being unable to hear footsteps would often result in teams losing crucial round which can have a big impact on the outcome of the match. It would not be a surprise if certain match outcomes were a direct result of such technical difficulties.

It’s not optimal for a Viewer either.

Speaking of technical difficulties, the major seems to be full of Technical pauses and delays. The admins are seemingly always trying to fix some audio issue or server issue. This has led to many memes about the FaceIt Major. Prolonged breaks in the middle of a game break the flow of the game. It is not fun to watch as an esports viewer with the lack of continuity in the stream. This is not an isolated incident but has pretty much become a repetitive factor at the FaceIT London Major.

The FPL Manager FaceIT Mikey was also seen with a sarcastic tweet towards FPL.

FaceIT still have time to redeem themselves

FaceIT has time to redeem themselves. There is a one day gap between the Challengers stage and the Legends stage. With the business end of the tournament coming up, it is important for FaceIT to show their capability to run an event on such a large scale.

The New Legends stage will start on September 12th with a match between G2 and Hellraisers.
