The Overwatch League Season 2 is all set to start on the 14th of February 2019. The League will see a huge change for Season 2. The first season was entirely held in Los Angeles at the Blizzard Esports arena. While the concept of the league allows for teams to play ‘Home and Away’ matches, it will take time for all the teams to feature home and away venues.
However, it seems like some teams are ready for Season 2 with their very own venues. So we will see ‘Road Matches’ for Season 2 itself. Teams will have to play other teams in Home and Away situations. We will have a venue filled with local fans, and possibly Away fans as well. This will be a very interesting concept and we will see if Overwatch League can execute it perfectly.
Now it is interesting to note that the majority of the Overwatch League Season 2 matches will be in Los Angeles. However, in an attempt to test the waters, teams will host a few Road matches. This will prepare the League as well as teams for Season 3 which should see Home and Away matches with regularity.
Currently, there are twenty Overwatch league teams. We expect another eight teams to join the League for Season 3 to take the total to 28. With 28 teams in the mix, the Home and Away matches will be exciting and definitely a must-watch for Overwatch fans.
Overwatch League Week 1 Schedule
