Overwatch League lays down the Path to the Pro

Home » Esports » Overwatch League lays down the Path to the Pro

Overwatch League has always promised that it will set a clear and set line towards the becoming professional. Ensuring a clear line of path towards going professional is what makes the Overwatch League unique from other esport titles such as CSGO, which still till date have a very murky line of ascension towards going professional.

The first step towards going pro would be through the Overwatch Open Division. It will be now be hosted by Battlefy instead of ESL, which had hosted the previous season. The previous season of Overwatch Open Division saw the division being plagued by several administrative problems.

  • Registration is now live at the Overwatch Open Division hub!
  • Play begins in January.
  • No rank restrictions.
  • Six-week, Swiss-format season.
  • Top teams will be invited to Contenders Trials.

More information about the path can be found on the official Overwatch League website.
