The new lineup is comprised of veteran players, with lots of experience in the Dota 2 professional scene. It includes the following members:
- Ace
- Fata
- 33
- Saksa
- Ppd
Ace and Fata are both former Team Secret members, having played with that team for exactly one year prior to leaving. For their duration with Team Secret, both players have taken part in multiple tournaments, a good portion of which they have won. In The International 2018, Team Spirit ranked in the 5-6th brackets.
Ppd and 33 are former members of the now-defunct OpTic roster, which disbanded earlier this month. Both are highly experienced are can certainly bring a lot to the table, where skill is concerned. Ppd will also take over a Team Captain, a logical choice considering that he also led OpTic for about a year.
Saksa has had a long Dota 2 career, spanning back to 2014. Since then, he has played with multiple top-tier teams, including OpTic Gaming, compLexity, and Digital Chaos. For a while he was also brought in as coach for HellRaisers. Prior to joining NiP, Saksa was part of BlinkPool, though that team only existed for 20 days, disbanding after failing to qualify for The International 2018.
The future of Ninjas in Pyjamas
With this new lineup, NiP will certainly be looking forward to great things. These are not a band of unknowns, rather a team of experienced players, well versed in the professional scene. Fans will also likely be pleased with the return of this household name. The previous NiP Dota 2 team disbanded in June 2017 and the NiP brand has been missing for more than a year.

Luckily, we will not have to wait long to see the new NiP in action. Alongside their new roster announcement, the team also revealed that it will take part in the upcoming ESL One Hamburg 2018 tournament, set to take place in late October. So far, Ninjas in Pyjamas is one of five teams to receive a direct invitation. Three more invite slots are available, while the final four will be filled with the winners of regional qualifier tournaments.
