The Overwatch League observers seemed to be quite different during the Playoffs. There are a lot more third-person viewpoints as the observers try to capture all the action. With the community constantly talking about the changes and how it is probably due to new observers on the team, Monte Cristo has come out with an explanation.
Apparently, the observing team felt that ensuring a third person view of the match and the gameplay was a better option for the viewers.
Seen some comments that OWL observing style changed for playoffs with more 3rd person camera.
This isn’t because of the TV broadcast, but the meta. Dragon Strikes and Halt/Hook combos mean that 3rd person camera work is better to see the action.
