With Blizzard announcing new heroes all the time and especially with the focus on Stuns and shields, we will be witnessing the hitscan heroes going down in their pick rates. Heroes such as Mccree and Soldier 76, which were once the dominant forces in the Overwatch League and various esports tournaments are no longer viable in the current scene.
Surefour feles that Blizzard will need to rework the hitscan heroes in order to make them viable. The next esports match in Overwatch will be in a couple of days when Overwatch League Season 1 returns for the Playoffs.
Hitscan heroes are going to need to be reworked as more and more heroes that revolve around abilities get released. If you provide a hitscan hero with strong abilities they become oppressive by people with good aim. But when they have weak ones they're oppressed by everyone else.
