Recently Valve announced several changes to the professional circuit in Dota2. With the third party events receiving diminishing attention, Valve sought to revive the esports scene with a new system in place. Under this new decision there would be several majors and minors distributed throughout the season. The schedule for the entire period upto 1 year has already been revealed by Valve.
This definitely will please several organisations that were looking to participate in these tournaments. In addition to this,, Valve will also match any contribution by the third party tournament organisers to the prize pool. This definitely puts in a lot more money on the table for Dota2 professional players.
Starladder will be hosting the first tournament, which will also be a minor in the new season. The tournament will be Starladder Season 3. It will also allow players and teams to earn qualifying points which can be accumulated over time.
More details about the registration process and tournament are provided on the official website.
