One of the most hated weapons in the game “Infinity Blade”, is back in Fortnite. Last time when it arrived, the sword wreaked havoc across the map and players rated it as a “disgrace” for the game. Epic brings this weapon back to the players, but only for a new mode.
What was the problem with the weapon?
The Infinity Blade was introduced in Season 7, December 2019. The weapon was removed after several reports from the players. They rated the weapon as an unbalanced advantage. Since, only a single player could carry the sword at a time, which made him/her a kind of “final boss” who could win the game with ease.
Many professionals had a problem with the item because tournaments with it provided unfair precedence. The one who held the sword had good chances to win. So there was quite a carnage with the sword at the December Winter Skirmish.

How did Epic Respond
The developer initially responded to the criticism in a very unique way as it announced to bring more “mythical items”. Epic apparently wanted to keep Fortnite fresh and thrilling so they decided to bring more imba items into play.
To satisfy the community, they introduced a small nerf to the sword, whereupon the protests got out of control. After the hatred of the weapon reached its climax, Epic removed the sword from the game.
Well, after about 4 months, the dreaded sword is back. But it is available in a modified form and only in a game mode. The sword will not exist in the normal game mode or in Arena mode.
Heya folks,
We messed up and rolled out the Infinity Blade overpowered / without good counters, especially in the end game.
The Infinity Blade has been Vaulted and we are re-evaluating our approach to Mythic items.
Thanks for calling us out on this!

How does the sword return?
This imba weapon will only be available in a new time-limited game mode. The mode will include only mythical and epic weapons, so you can also get your hands on the sword. Yet, even in this mode, the weapon will receive a decent nerf. It is rumored that the sword has been “fixed” and now several players can pick it up.
In addition, you can no longer harvest building materials with the sword, as it was quite easy to do so when it was in the normal game. Moreover, you can also no longer make “godly” jumps with the weapon in your hand.
Other changes have recently affected the battle royale world of Fortnite. The Fortnite helicopter has reached the Shobby Shores. It seems that the same locality can represent the new site for the future in-game excavations. More news is also expected during the next week, with the arrival of the 8.30 update, which will introduce the Fortnite Reboot Vans. Together with the vans, the Restart Cards will also be introduced next week.
