Fortnite Battle Royale may be a fresh entrance to the sporting globe, but their award pools are often quite enormous. With $30 million in the Fortnite World Cup, let’s look at the top twenty winning pro players by prize cash after one of the largest sports tournaments ever seen.
While esports is making players millionaires overnight, teams, betting companies and merchandise companies are building of the success of the company.
Although Epic Games has been criticized with Fortnite for various aspects of their sporting ventures, their exorbitant prize pools are one thing they can not be refused.
While millions had been given before the Fortnite World Cup, the huge $30 million award offered there led in a significant shake-up in the rankings, with Timothy ‘ Bizzle ‘ Miller falling to 16th over a single weekend.
Where Bizzle earlier contributed with $518,250, there are now 10 competitors who have gained more than $1 million, meaning that Fortnite now features more millionaires through award cash than any other match except Dota 2, which stays in a category on its own when it goes to awards thanks to The International.
Now standing at the top of the list is Kyle’ Bugha’ Giersdorf, 16, who brought back the $3 million award in the Solos competition for the first position. Despite earning only 25,900 in total from other pre-World Cup activities, Bugha is now well ahead of any other Fortnite player over a million.
Meanwhile, by virtue of that consequence, Solos runner-up Harrison’s’ psalm’ Chang was also rocked into second place on the income list, with the $1.8 million award for second place placing him a considerable margin ahead of even Duos champions Aquav2 and Nyhrox.
With the Fortnite World Cup now complete, many will naturally look at what’s next for competitive Fortnite, but many players have already secured life-changing amounts of money from that tournament alone.
Thanks to EsportsEarnings monitoring, we can see which teams have so far, ahead of the large case, pocketed the most money from their matches achievements.
