The Hearthstone World Championship 2018 will move to Taipei for their upcoming event. The announcement comes on the official twitter account for Hearthstone esports.

The announcement initially came during the 2018 Hearthstone All-Star Invitational in Taipei last week. HCT Fall 2018 finalist Wu “BloodTrail” Zong-Chang defeated HCT World Championship 2017 winner Chen “tom60229” Wei Lin at the All-star Invitational. He secured the prize pool of $20,000. They announced that they would be back from April 25th-28th, 2019 for this event. The total prize pool for the event is $1 million.

There are a total of 16 spots available at the event. The invites will be based on multiple factors which include their previous placements, tournaments played, victories etc. Players will be busy assembling their best decks for the event.

This event will be HCT’s final event as Blizzard has already announced a new competitive format for the upcoming year. The new format will feature a three-tier system. It will feature qualifiers and live global events. The matches will be online and region locked.

You can catch up with the All-star Invitational Games on Twitch or Youtube.
