Tax Authorities in Finland have decided to move esports players income to a trust fund similar to the advantages provided to traditional sports authorities. The ruling was made in March 2017
In a broad sense the definition of athletics can also be extended to forms of sports where skill and mental capability is primary. The performance does not need to be a physically demanding exercise.
This Trust fund will ensure that the high earnings in the younger years for a traditional sports person ( which is quite similar to that of an esport player ) can be available for use in the later years of a persons lifespan. This helps them balance out their funds and maintain their wealth through a long period of time.
