The European Masters Summer 2018 tournament has gone past its Quarter-Finals stage and is now ready to start with the Semi-Finals.
Knockout Stage continues
The European Masters Summer 2018 event is entering its final days. The Quarter-Finals took place on 22 and 23 September and now the Semi-Finals are just around the corner. The first round of the Knockout Stage saw eight teams compete for a spot further in the tournament and there were certainly some surprises along the way.
The first match in the Knockout Stage was between Outplayed and EURONICS Gaming. Outplayed had certainly performed well throughout the tournament, but they were no match for EURONICS, who beat them 2 – 0 and advanced into the Semi-Finals.

Following that, GamersOrigin faced Ninjas in Pyjamas. It was an unfortunate match for GamersOrigin to go up against such an experienced opponent so early into the Knockout Stage. The French team had a great track record in the Group Stage, going 3 – 0 by beating every other team in Group D. However, their success would not last indefinitely and NiP made quick work of them, winning two games in a row and eliminating GamersOrigin from the tournament.

The second day of the Knockout Stage saw two much more contested matchups. The first was between Gentside and MAD Lions, two teams that were held first place in their respective groups. The first game went to MAD Lions, which they finished with a significant advantage over their opponent, namely a 9,000 gold lead, 2 more dragons and 9 total tower kills.
The second game was snatched by Gentside, though they were not able to accumulate the same lead that MAD Lions did the previous game. The Spanish team quickly bounced back, however, and reclaimed the advantage in the third match, which they won after 38 minutes of play.

The final matchup of the Quarter-Finals saw Panathinaikos A.C. eSports go up against ASUS ROG ELITE. The Greek team started with a massive advantage over their opponent, winning the first game shortly before the 25-minute mark with about a 14,000 gold and 10 player kill lead. However, the second game saw ASUS ROG ELITE wipe the floor with Panathinaikos, after 31 minutes of play, 17 champion kills and a 15,000 gold lead.
The third and decisive game of the matchup once again favored ASUS ROG ELITE. It lasted for 31 minutes before the Serbian team closed the match. In the end, they had a 10,000 gold lead, 2 Baron and Dragon kills, and 9 Tower kills. With that, the results were clear for the Semi-Finals.
They've done it! Congratulations to @EliteAsus for advancing to the #EUMasters Summer 2018 Semifinals in Katowice after taking down Panathinaikos! 🇷🇸 pic.twitter.com/cnpvta4DIB
