GamingMalta, a non-profit organization created by the Malta government, has expanded its association with the ESL tournament organizers.
The majority of the ESL Pro League will be hosted in Malta in 2021 again.
GamingMalta will continue to serve as the ESL’s official partner for Season 12 of the league prior to physically hosting the League next year. All-Pro League regions-Europe, North America, South America, Asia, and Oceania-host online matches through all the season due to COVID-19 complications.
ESL’s Co-CEO, Ralf Reichert, made a statement about the expansion: “The partnership with GamingMalta allows us to give the world’s gaming community an exciting climate. Malta is a progressive country with its finger on the digital pulse combined with a beautiful Mediterranean ambient which partnered with us for a phenomenal 11th season of the world’s largest professional esports league in CS: GO. We couldn’t be more excited about this partnership to bring the growth of esports and beauty even more together.
GamingMalta is aiming, in its announcement, to “make Malta the new home for esports businesses and professionals,” and sees it as a major component in achieving that goal with ESL for the Pro League.
