The ESL One: New York CS:GO tournament is just around the corner and all the details of the event have been revealed.
ESL One: New York tournament format
The ESL One: New York will consist of two stages – a Group Stage and a Playoffs Stage. The Group Stage will feature eight different teams, six of which have been invited and two seeded from the European and North American Qualifiers. They will be separated into two groups of four and the top two teams from each group will advance to the next stage. All matches will be best-of-three for the duration of the Group Stage.
The Playoffs will begin on the third day of the event and will conclude on the fourth with the Grand Finals. Four teams will play in the Playoffs, having eliminated the other four. The Group A first-place team will go up against the Group B second-place team, while the Group A second-place team will face the Group B first place. The Semi-Finals matches will be best-of-three and the Grand Final matchup will be best-of-five.
The prize pool for the tournament is set at $250,000, though the exact sums that qualifying teams will take home have not been disclosed.

The teams will be separated into the following groups:
- Natus Vincere
- Mousesports
- Fnatic
- Gambit Esports
- FaZe Clan
- G2 Esports
- NRG Esports
- Team Liquid
Furthermore, the first matches for the Group Stage have also been scheduled and will take place on 26 September.

Where to watch
The tournament will take place in the Barclays Center in New York City. Viewers can tune in on Twitch.tv and YouTube, where the event will be broadcast for the entirety of its duration. The tournament will be hosted by OJ Borg and stunna, while the games will be analyzed by SPUNJ, Maniac and Thorin. Commentary will be provided by Sadokist, HenryG, Machine and Pansy.
