There has been much criticism of the IEM oakland format which was used. We saw teams such as Gambit qualify after winning just two matches, while other probably more deserving teams such as Astralis failed to qualify.
Oakland will be one of the last CSGO events from our side with that amount of bo1's. Moving to different formats next year, enabling us to do more bo3.

IEM will not be using the same format beginning next year. THey have a few formats that they believe will be better and will also feature more BO3’s which has been the community’s demand since a long time.
