Esports event organiser, ESL has announced that it will host a 4 team CS: GO tournament next month. The invitational will be held alongside the Bucharest Gaming Week. Scheduled for the 9th of December, the tournament will have a total of four teams.
Two teams will receive invites by the tournament organiser few days prior to the event. The Bucharest Gaming Week Invitational will commence after the completion of the ESL SouthEast Europe Championship. The winner of the ESL South East Europe Championship will directly qualify for the Bucharest Invitational.
The event will be held at the Romexpo. ESL already has had a collaboration with the Bucharest’s Municipality & the Cultural Center of Bucharest (ARCUB). But this will be their first ever CS: GO Invitational at the venue.
Structure
Players and teams from all over Europe will be able to participate at the open Qualifiers on the 10th and the 17th of November. The top 3 finishers from each Qualifier will advance to the online playoffs where they will be joined by the winners of two local to the SEE scene leagues. The 8 teams will battle it out from the 26th until the 28th of November for that most wanted LAN Finals spot.
Eligible to participate at the open Qualifiers are players that are either legally residing in the EU, i.e. they are not in need of a visa, or they are able to obtain a visa for Romania on time.
The Prize Pool distribution at the event is as follows:
- 1st Place: 25,000€
- 2nd Place: 12,500€
- 3rd – 4th Place: 6250€ each
A collaboration with the City Government.
The ESL Katowice event is well known in the Counter-Strike circuit. Featuring some of the biggest names in Counter-Strike, the Katowice event for 2019 will also be a CSGO Major. Having a successful event in the city means the influx of lots of tourists and business for the local community. It also helps in enhancing the name of the place across the globe.
With the Katowice event gaining so much prominence it is not surprising to see Bucharest also jump on the esports bandwagon. With time, this event might become a regular feature on the CS: GO calendar.
Betting at the CSGO Major
On the group stages, the teams compete against one another with the two top teams joining the event’s bracket segment. The two teams that finish at the bottom of the table are disqualified.
The bracket section starts with the top team in every group in the second team in the other group in two semi-finals, after the group stage has been completed.
These are the strongest one-off games of three, with the winner finishing.
The two teams knocked out during the semi-end phase were awarded a reward of 10,000 dollars, the contestant took home 20,000 dollars, and the winner pocketing the prize money to the lion by giving a 50 000 dollars bonus.
Esports bookmakers have already dominated Romania’s teams throughout the weekend and Bet365 Esports is a co-favoured 4/1 team with Virtus Pro and Heroic.
The EnVyUs team is 9/2 shots, the Dignitas team and the FaZe Clan 5/1 shots. Flipsid3 Tactics is the external teams at 11/1 and Gambit Gaming are the external teams at 22/1.
