Eleague Boston Major will be the second time that the title holder did not reach the playoffs. This obviously comes in as Gambit lost out to Fnatic in the group stage of the tournament. The last time that this happened was when EnVyUs were eliminated in the group stage of MLG Columbus 2016.
The only time the previous Major's winner didn't reach the playoffs was EnVyUs at MLG Columbus 2016 (winners of DH Cluj).
Let's see if Gambit will join that club. nV also had a lineup change between Majors that time, replacing kioShiMa with DEVIL
