The first day at TI8 faced several problems as the production could not keep the stream up for most of the time. There were multiple streams running at a given time, but the streams were consistently going down due to technical problems. As a result, the fans ( and rightfully so) were very angry at PGL and Valve. The biggest esports tournament in terms of prize pool should not face such production issues.
Valve has come out with a public apology and they have confirmed that they will fix the issue in the upcoming days.
We are sorry about the repeated stream downtime today. We are working through some power problems that have caused issues with stream encoding and network hardware at the event.
