The Mayhem Academy is the Contenders team for Florida Mayhem. The team did not have a great time in the two Contender Seasons of 2018. They only managed to finish in the 5-8th position, well below their peers. For the management, this does seem to be due to lack of adequate player scouting. They have appointed ‘yeh’ as their Head of Player Development and Scouting.
NYXL to launch their online store.
For Overwatch League teams, their branding comes as a part and parcel to boost their merchandise sales. The lack of merchandise sales in esports, including Overwatch has been a worrying concern for non-endemic organisations entering the scene. They see a lot of money being invested, but minimal returns. The lack of stadium attendance tickets, merchandise sales all add up to provide minimal revenue from esports.
No need to dream, we're launching NYXL Online Store on 11/16.

With the Overwatch League, Blizzard attempts to change a lot of this. They want to ensure that team owner are able to monetize their teams, their fanbase and popularity. The New York Excelsior was the most successful team in Overwatch League Season 1. Although they did not win the season, they were by far the most dominant team in regular Group play.
