BenQ has been providing esports opportunities for females via its Divina initiative. It started with Starcraft 2 in 2011 and will now transition to include PUBG. BenQ announced the ZOWIE DIVINA Women’s Invitational PUBG to take place in Shanghai, China.
The tournament will feature 48 participants to compete in a first-person perspective matches on the Sanhok map. The map is the latest map to be included in PUBG and has become a regular feature in PUBG tournaments. The Divina initiative provides opportunities for women to rise through the competitive ladder in esports. The LAN tournament will take place from 13th to 16th December. The total prize pool of the tournament will be $15,000.
The tournament features a registration process for anyone wishing to participate in the event. The official website is already accepting registrations. The winner of the process will be announced on November 5th on their social media platforms. The organisers will pay for the finalists’ travel and accommodation expenses. The final day for Registrations is November 2.
BenQ will announce further details of their rules and procedure in the upcoming weeks. For now, this is a great initiative to provide a platform for women PUBG players to participate in the esports scene. It will definitely provide a boost to the game with more players and hopefully more tournaments.
