Hellraisers is a very inconsistent team and they proved it yet again. The CIS team was unable to put a strong showing despite valiant attempts by ISSAA and Woxic. Hellraisers is a team that has shown a lot of promise, especially during the FaceIT London Major. They reached the semifinals when they were unable to move past their opponents.
Coming into the Quarterfinals at EPICENTER 2018, they had a matchup against local rivals Avangar. Despite having so many talented players as well as a lot of experience on this roster, HR was unable to secure the win. The maps for this matchup were Inferno and Train, two heavy CT sided maps.
Hellraisers Map pick of Inferno was supposed to provide better results for the team. However, they only managed to secure 6 rounds on their T side. The team is usually known for its better T sides rather than CT sides, however, they were unable to string multiple rounds. Avangar had managed to do this and they broke the Hellraisers economy.
Qikert was able to show up big time on the CT side. His +12 KDA was essential for Avangar as they headed into the second half. Qikert was able to hold down the Hellraisers offence on multiple occasions. Avangar was able to win the first gun round and that spelt doom for the Hellraisers team. Avangar was able to win multiple rounds and break the Hellraisers economy on their CT side. This is something that Hellraisers was almost never able to do.
The Second Map – Train.
Trian was Avangar’s Map pick as they secured Hellraisers Inferno with relative ease. Avangar won the pistol round and the subsequent two rounds. While Hellraisers did manage to win the fourth round, it was Fitch who brought the game back to Avangar.

His deep positioning post plant gave him such a huge advantage for the team as he was able to shut down the retake. Throughout the Train map, it was Jame who was shining as he ended up the map with a +16 KDA. The team looked much better when it comes to the Counter Terrorist side as well as the Terrorist side. Avangar took hold of 9 rounds on their T side and then followed it up with an equally amazing CT side performance. Their dominance throughout the map was exactly why they chose Train as their map pick. They have great movement through the map. If they choose to pressure one side of the map, it is usually followed by a very defensive performance on the other side.
Avangar pulled off this win over Hellraisers, but it was not all because of their performance. Hellraisers definitely slacked and had a very poor performance. As Avangar head into the Semi-Finals, we will see them play off against Na’Vi.
