Firstblood is a competitive platform with an aim to bridge the gap between amateurs and pros. The platform has now announced a  $10,000 PUBG invitational tournament which will feature 16 of the top North American teams.

The tournament starts on October 6th and has fourteen invited teams. These teams include organizations like Ghost Gaming, Cloud9, and EnVy. The remaining two slots are decided by FirstBlood’s weekly Survival Sunday competition. This will take place on the 5th of October 2018 and will decide the final two teams at the event.

We are really excited to offer this opportunity to the competitive PUBG community. With our $10k PUBG Invitational, we feel that we have created a unique competitive pathway; where players can show up as unknowns, earn a name and reputation for themselves, earn amazing prizes, and ultimately, earn qualification through to major cash events competing against some of the best teams in the world. Make no mistake though, with the likes of Ghost, Cloud9, Envy, Team Gates competing, to name a few, taking home a share of the $10k prize pool will be no walk in the park

Robert Botto, Marketing Lead for FirstBlood.

The tournament format

The team placing first in the tournament will receive 400 points. The second place team will get 330 points. The division of points goes down the leaderboard with the last placed team getting zero points. In a bid to emphasize kill-focussed gameplay, the tournament will award 16 points to the team for every kill. PUBG has been notorious for being too passive with players camping in order to win tournaments. The rewards for the kills is important to speed up the pace of the game.

Every round will rotate between the two maps available for competitive play, starting and ending on Erangel with Miramar filling in the gaps between.

The Prize distribution is as follows:

  1. 1st Place: $6000
  2. 2nd Place: $3,000
  3. 3rd Place : $1,000

You can catch all the action live on Twitch.
